Our work in Henry County

United Way of Delaware County is expanding to serve Henry County and will build a customized impact focus for the community.

Nearly half of all households in Henry County live in poverty or are struggling to make ends meet. These working families (or ALICE—Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) face daily obstacles hindering their health, education, and financial stability. Their lives—and futures—can change, but they need your help.

By strategically funding local programs and working toward community identified bold goals, we are making strides toward a better tomorrow. We are on our way, but we need your support.

Now is the time to conquer generational poverty and create a better future for the people of Henry County.

Working to build a strategic impact agenda

United Way of Delaware and Henry Counties wants to listen to and learn from the people of Henry County and work together to build a strategic impact agenda that is unique to Henry County.

The Henry County United Fund dissolved last summer in anticipation of returning to the United Way family.

United Fund has primarily been a pass through of funds to nonprofits and relied primarily on volunteers to carry out it’s mission. The change means the community will have the benefit of a United Way staff to help examine goals, needs and funding potential to reach identified objectives, as well as the organizational structure in place to deliver on those objectives.
