Since 1978, United Way has been a part of the history and culture of Muncie Power Products. Through financial and volunteer support, the company has proudly supported United Way of Delaware County through each campaign ever since.

Throughout the years, Muncie Power Products’ dedicated employees have given of themselves to propel UWDC’s mission forward. Employees have served as members of the board of directors, volunteered on committees, and participated annually in Day of Action. In 2001, the late former chairman and CEO of Muncie Power Products Joe Wilson even served as United Way’s campaign chair.

Senior Vice President Chris Fancher believes that the Muncie Power Products team has a responsibility to the community.

“It’s important to contribute to United Way because it’s through our donations that United Way supports the work of various agencies that make our community a better place to live and raise our families,” said Chris. “It’s our responsibility to help those in need, so they can experience and enjoy a better life.”

Giving back and serving the community is embedded in Muncie Power Products’ corporate DNA. As a Pacesetter company, the team takes its role seriously and strives to set the tone for other companies throughout Delaware County. Their team sees the direct impact of United Way’s work in their neighbors, co-workers, and friends. Muncie Power recognizes that their contributions and volunteer efforts for United Way provide families with the tools and resources they need to thrive. They believe it is up to Delaware County’s community members to make a difference and support United Way’s mission to create lasting change.

Muncie Power Products’ leadership has recognized that the company’s participation as a Pacesetter empowers and energizes the employees.

“Our company has long understood that the health of our community has a direct impact on our business, our personal lives, and those around us,” shared Ray Chambers, Muncie Power’s Chairman, CEO, and President. “United Way has been our main avenue to give back in ways that fulfill our purpose as individuals and collectively as a company. There is no greater investment than those we make in people.”

Muncie Power employees have been active in the 2017 campaign as well.

“As a current board member, I am proud to support the work of United Way through their focus to improve, education, income, and health,” said Kevin Woehler, Group Manager for the Technology Solutions Group. “United Way is making an impact on countless lives within our community.”
