BSU Student United Way


Student United Way (SUW)
is a student-led community change organization on Ball State University campus. With advising from United Way of Delaware County and Ball State University, students in Student United Way help impact the community, grow as leaders, and develop an ongoing relationship with United Way.

Student Leaders

Student leaders of Student United Way:
  • Impact the community through volunteering, advocating, fundraising, and more, helping bridge the gap between campus and community
  • Grow as leaders through meaningful experiences and connecting with community and business leaders
  • Develop an ongoing relationship with the United Way movement, by working with the local United Way of Delaware County and gaining access to national opportunities

Each official Student United Way chapter will be able to tap into:

  • Support for student leaders and campus and United Way advisers from United Way of America campus engagement staff
  • National corporate and media partnerships and grant funding (as available)
  • United Way created materials co-branded with the campus affiliate
  • An alumni network of like minded student activists
  • e-newsletter about the latest United Way volunteer activities, internships, advocacy campaigns, etc. across the country and globe
  • United Way student webinar trainings and conference calls
  • Facilitated United Way connections for student alumni if they move to a new community
  • Special projects such as United Way's 10,000 Hours Show and Alternative Spring Break
